National Military Structure

-          Responsible to the citizens

-          Makes / executes defense policy

-          NCA (National Command Authority) (Pres, Sec. Def., their alternates / successors)

o        Constitutional auth to direct military

o        Directs inter-theater troops and all military action

-          Joint Chiefs of Staff – Advise CinC, Planners / advisors only (National Security Act of 1947)
